  • You realize of course that congress has almost always had a lower approval rating than the president, that includes when the Republicans were in control and when a Democrat was president. I would like to say as well, as a socialist, do not lump Obama in with us.

  • lisaed -- More government does not neccessarily mean more freedom, however it also doesn't mean less. In the current capitalist system industry and indeed most of our lives are focused around indivduals who are greedy and only get to the top by the most ruthless means.

  • I despise it when phrase are taken out of context. Rev. Wright simply spoke about his beliefs about modern American society. They are hardly unfounded and his hatred of racism is totally legitimate. I have said far worse than god-damn America but so what. It is an expression.

  • I don't know if jcpas is still reading this or not but I just want to say that I support you in your decision. I am struggling with a similar choice. I have had to pay my entire college career out of my own pocket, that basically means student loans.

  • I don't know where you got your information, but when I was in Germany they were very accepting of my lack of German speaking abilities. In many cases, the locals are happy if you make an effort. Greet them in their native language, thank them do your best and it works out.

  • I hope everyone who reads this article realizes its time for a major change. Just voting for the democrats, either one, is not enough. It is time for a real change. Right now corporations have far to much influence on the way our political system works.

  • What I don't understand about those on the religious right is why they assume that anyone that doesn't believe in god is automatically amoral. I am a strong atheist but I feel my morals and ethics are well in place despite my religous handicap.

  • Thats awesome so we are paying to rebuild Iraq (which since we destroyed it in the first place I guess I agree with) and they are spending their money on more expensive and nicer toys in order to kill each other.

  • Go to opensecrets.org, it lists all the people who contribute to campaigns. Also Barack claims to not take money from Corporations and lobbyists but what he does do is take money from individual members of those corporations in order to bypass having their name on the list, its called bundling.
